From 14 to 16 May, the HealthyW8 Consortium convened for its 2nd Annual Meeting at the University of Évora in Portugal, uniting partners, researchers, and stakeholders from across Europe for three days of meaningful collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic planning.
Taking place at the historic Colégio do Espírito Santo, the event began with opening remarks from representatives of the University and its key research centres, alongside messages from the HaDEA project officer and the project coordinator. These opening addresses emphasized the crucial role of scientific collaboration in tackling complex public health challenges such as obesity.
Over the course of the meeting, participants took part in parallel sessions aligned with the project’s work packages, reporting on progress, addressing obstacles, and coordinating future actions. A special session with the Stakeholder Advisory Board provided valuable external insights to further refine the project’s trajectory.
The meeting wrapped up with a general assembly and coordination session, reaffirming the consortium’s shared vision and setting a clear path for the next phase of work.
The HealthyW8 Consortium extends heartfelt thanks to the University of Évora, and especially to Prof. Elsa Lamy, for their warm hospitality and support. Energized by the outcomes and strengthened partnerships, the team is now well-prepared to advance its mission of promoting healthier living across Europe.
